In The presence of more than 23 Chinese university held a conference of higher
education in China in Canal University on Monday 04.23.2012 at university theater and where prof Dr. Ali Zayat Confucius
Institute Director started by thanking the Republic of China on the gifts
offered to the Egyptian Interior Ministry and each of John Kwa Head of Mission
and air Chancellor Teaching of Chinese Embassy in Cairo Liwa Executive
Director of the Confucius Institute at t Canal University and Hugh Consul General of the Embassy of China in Alexandria and said
that this conference comes out of keenness of the university to promote
cooperation among the oldest civilizations in the world Chinese and Egyptian
and in order to progress as the first steps of progress is the interest in
science and that we are going to adopt the Chinese experience of progress and
growth there are 77 scientific convention with Chinese universities
And also a center for fisheries research and will be opening a project of
wastewater treatment in cooperation with Chinese universities
Universities welcomed 55 Chinese students to study for a doctorate from canal University
and 300 Chinese students to study Arabic.
and John Kwa noted that there is communication
between Egypt and China represented in scientific exchange of students and
professors between Egypt and China.
Hugh explained that more than 30 Chinese university opened a section of the
Arabic language in China and more than 8 universities in Egypt opened a
department of the Chinese language in Egypt in addition to the Confucius
Institute that Chinese government encourages students to study foreign
languages.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Zayat said China today was to provide scholarships for students
of canal University and the student to choose what he wants to study in
coordination with the Institute of Confucius can get the grant.
During the visit the delegation visited Confucius Institute and the meeting
ended with the signing of Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab Vice President for Graduate
Studies and Research agreement between the Beijing University of Traditional
Chinese Medicine and Suez Canal University.
